Picnic Policy 

Thank you for your interest in Booking A&J Luxury Picnic !

​

By Booking our services you are acknowledging and agreeing to our policy:

You are welcome to bring your own food & drinks with the exception of red wine (stains our luxury furniture). We recommend bringing light fare to the beach especially on hot days (sushi, pizza, fruit salad etc.) Please be aware that if you or your guests bring alcohol to the picnic, it is the client’s responsibility to research the the rules & regulations if alcohol is permitted. Any repercussions or actions under the influence are the full responsibility of the client.  

 

- That if you cancel your reservation, your  50% deposit will not be refunded.*

We can provide a credit for a future picnic within 6 months as an alternative.

 - If there is foreseeable bad weather for the day of your picnic, we can reschedule for up to 6 months. We do not reschedule for the same day.

-  In the event any property is damaged during your picnic, you and  your guests are responsible for property damage costs.This includes food and beverage spills.

- Your reservation is NOT secured until we sign service agreement and submit at least a 50% deposit. If your picnic is within 14 days from reserving, a full deposit is required.

- You will arrive on time for your picnic reservation. We will give a 15 minute courtesy, thereafter the time of your picnic will begin. No exceptions, please plan accordingly.

You will not receive any refund or rescheduling of your picnic if it starts raining at any point during your picnic reservation or at any point after the picnic is setup.

If you  choose another location other than the recommended locations by A&J Luxury Event Planning, You're fully responsible for applying and paying for the city event permit and insurance. No refunds or rescheduling if the client’s location does not allow us to setup.

- Once the picnic is setup on the beach/area, it cannot be moved or rearranged elsewhere. We cannot predict/control crowds or ambiance at any point during my picnic.

These are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. Please note, these policies are subject to change without notice. If you have questions, just ask!

Q: WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A LUXURY PICNIC?

A: The luxury Picnic includes seating, decor,  for you and your guests plus delivery, setup & cleanup.​


Q: HOW DO I SELECT A LOCATION?

A: Choose from one of our preferred locations or email us to collaborate on a special place. If you have an address, landmark or GPS coordinates, send those with your request. We can't accommodate all requests but we will do our best. When dealing with rough terrain: sand, trails, steep slopes, etc. we may not be able to navigate with all our equipment so we aim to keep all our setup locations within 30 yards of delivery vehicle access.

Q: DOES A&J STAY DURING OUR PICNIC?

A: No, we leave after you're settled and return once your picnic reservation ends. If you need us during your picnic, you can call or text your Picnic Coordinator.

 

Q: SHOULD I INCLUDE MY YOUNG KIDS IN THE GUEST COUNT WHEN BOOKING?

A: If you're planning a picnic for a group of adults and young children, it can be hard to know if the kids ‘count.’ We leave that decision up to you- if you’d like a place setting, seating food for them, then yes, regular rate applies. If you don’t want those accommodations, simply tell us how many guests will require a place setting, seating and food.

Please keep in mind that our table sizes vary based on guest count so if you book for 2 people, we bring a 30” round table if you have 2+ kids, there likely will not be enough room.


Q: DO I NEED A PERMIT?

A: It depends on the location, number of people and a couple of other factors, ex: weddings always require permits. If you have a question about permitting, just ask.

 

Q: WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION, CREDIT + REFUND POLICY?

A: We don't offer any refunds but we will try to reschedule your picnic or issue a credit with enough advance notice, depending on the size of your picnic. Deposits are non-refundable.

Within 2 weeks of your event, the deposit is “locked-in” and cannot be used as a credit toward future events.

Deposits are 50% of reservation. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows will not be issued a credit.​

 

Q: WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER?

A: While rare, we sometimes have to move locations or change dates due to weather. Because rain in New York is highly unpredictable (we regularly see 100% chance of rain forecasted only to have sunny skies (and no rain) hours later.) If that looks like weather may affect your reservation, we will reach out with covered locations or rescheduling options. We check the weather regularly and if at the ‘48 hour mark’ and ‘24 hour mark’ there is more than a 30% chance of rain we will contact you to discuss your options. There is no cancellation charge for rescheduling your picnic due to weather if there is over a 30% chance of rain.
